The DRA-800H Blends Denon’s Legacy of Hi-Fi with an Advanced HDMI Video Section, Wireless Music Streaming and Traditional Audio Capabilities

 Eindhoven (June 18th, 2019)—Today Denon®, the world’s leading manufacturer of premium home entertainment and personal audio products since 1910, announced its first stereo network receiver with wireless music streaming and limitless connectivity. The DRA-800H is designed for the two-channel music enthusiast that wants the power, precision and detail found in Denon amplifiers without having to compromise on streaming and TV connection features. It leverages both Denon’s Hi-Fi heritage and AV receiver technical leadership, offering a mixture of dedicated high quality two-channel listening alongside an advanced connectivity suite that supports full 4K Ultra HD video with HDMI ARC.

 With FM/DAB+ radio, a dedicated Phono input, Wi-Fi integration and plenty of digital inputs including HDMI, music lovers will upgrade their listening and home theatre experience in every aspect. The DRA-800H integrates seamlessly with any TV, streaming music service, voice control and smart device. Behind its aluminium front panel, it features renowned Denon advanced custom amplifier design and a strong power supply, to ensure the loudspeakers drive detailed, precise imaging and impactful sound.

 High-Performance Pre-Amplifier and Power-Amplifier Section & Hi-Res Playback

Using the design principles and Hi-Fi components found in Denon’s award-winning amplifiers, Denon sound engineers carefully crafted the DRA-800H with custom resistors and audiophile grade capacitors to ensure pristine fidelity. The newly designed power-amplifier section features a Left/Right symmetrical design and Denon custom capacitors. With an Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) winding power transformer for better tonal quality, the DRA-800H delivers 100 watts per channel (8ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, THD: 0.08%, 2ch driven). Featuring double differential DAC circuitry and strictly selected components, the pre-power amplifier section helps reduce unwanted signal noise and achieve higher audio quality. With low impedance driver capability, the DRA-800H offers greater stability with a wide range of floor-standing and bookshelf loudspeakers for balanced, quality sound.

Boasting AKM AK4458 32-bit D/A converters, the DRA-800H features high-resolution audio decoding with multiple lossless file types, including ALAC, FLAC and WAV at up to 24-bit/196 kHz. It’s also compatible with 2.8/5.6-MHz DSD files (DSD is the audio coding format of SACD). Access content from memory devices via the front panel USB, or over network sources. The stereo network receiver also supports other file types like MP3 and WMA.

Advanced HDMI Video Section

To fully enjoy movies, shows and games every day, the DRA-800H features five HDMI inputs and one output, which support 4K Ultra HD 60Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR10), Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through support for exceptional colour, clarity and contrast. HDCP 2.3 processing is available on all HDMI ports, enabling users to enjoy copy-protected content. An HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC) port also enables seamless transmission of audio directly from a smart TV to the receiver through the connected HDMI cable.

HEOS Built-in for Multiroom Music Listening

HEOS Built-in enables seamless wireless multi-room music streaming across compatible HEOS components from a variety of free and premium streaming services, including Spotify Premium and free, Deezer, Amazon Music, TuneIn Internet Radio, Sound Cloud, Tidal and many more.

Effortless Voice Control

The DRA-800H works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Siri. Listeners can use Amazon Alexa for a variety of commands, including switching inputs for different media players, while the Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri can be used to adjust the volume, skip to the next track, and more.
